THE BARREL IS MADE OF A PLASTIC/POLYESTER TUBE IN GREEN AND HAS HIGHLY POLISHED CHROME ENDS.

IF YOU HAVE NEVER HANDLED ONE OF THESE P'3140'S BEFORE, KNOW THIS... THEY ARE COOL TO BOTH USE AND WATCH!! IN ORDER FOR THE WRITING TIP TO BE EXPOSED (SO IT CAN BE USED) YOU NEED TO "FLICK" YOUR WRIST WHICH WILL ALLOW THE COUNTERWEIGHT CONTAINED WITH THE FAR END OF THIS PEN TO GYRATE THUS ALLOWING THE WRITING TIP TO BE EXPOSED. IT IS DESIGNED TO "LOCK" INTO THIS POSITION SO IT WILL NOT RETRACT ACCIDENTALLY.
IN ORDER TO RETRACT THIS WRITING TIP, YOU SIMPLY "FLICK" YOUR WRIST ONE MORE TIME.
THIS PEN WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED BY FABER-CASTELL, WHO RECENTLY LOST THE CONTRACT AFTER OWNING IT FOR DECADES. THE NEW MANUFACTURE IS UNDER CONTRACT TO REPLACE THESE PENS AS "
